I know car factories have computers of some kind in them, but I'm pretty sure this is not how they have it all set up...

Using a mirror you can double your production without any extra overhead.
Genius!

I don't know about auto plants specifically, but some (most?) manufacturing plants do have them set up like that, even in dirtier environments. It's where production is reported, parts inventories are updated, scrap is reported, etc. That screen could also be monitoring/controlling line speed or something similar.

Are you sure they didn't just send the first production line through a looping wormhole?

Dividing by zero.
Pros: Infinite productivity.
Cons: Destroys the universe.

Works in highly sophisticated car production plant, still dresses like Gomer Pyle.
